Area Lions, Lioness and LEO clubs are participating in a district-wide service project, and you can help.

“Children are a gift to the world, yet every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer…. That’s why Lions are answering the call to expand access to life-saving treatment and support the children and families who need us most. We are working to give children with cancer a second chance at life.”  (www.lionsclubs.org.)  Clubs throughout east central Illinois are collecting gift cards for families of children with cancer to give them one less thing to worry about.  All cards will be donated the first week in May to a childhood cancer treatment facility right here in east central Illinois, benefitting your neighbors, families and friends.  For more information about this project, contact:  Lion Steve Bennett, District Chair

Pennies For Promise is just one way to support the programs that help save lives through the Lions Clubs International Foundation.  Each penny donated has the potential to have a positive impact on those in need.  Lions are putting their spare change in a jar.  While each donation seems small, when added to the rest of the members of the club, the donations is more significant.   With 60 clubs in the Mighty District 1M, when we put our donations together, the impact is quite significant.  To learn more about LCIF, visit the links to the right of this website.  Learn how your pennies save lives in time of disaster, disease, and impending darkness.
