Student Speakers Foundation
" Your Legacy to the Youth Of
Lions District 46,
Nevada"

Lions of District 46 Student Speakers Foundation primary principal is supporting the Lions Clubs of District 46 (encompassing communities in the state of Nevada and two communities in the state of California) annual Lions Student Speakers Contest through contest winner scholarships. Funds are raised through individual giving and purchase of recognition fellows.

This seventy-five year tradition provides an opportunity for competitive speaking among students on a subject of vital interest to the contestants, as well as the American people as a whole. The contest also stimulates self-expression and independent thinking, and considers the means at our disposal of meeting the present and future world problems.

The District 46 Lions Student Speakers Foundation, Inc. is:

• a non-profit Nevada corporation administered by a Board of Directors who are Lions and who serve without pay.

• the Trustee of funds contributed to support the Student Speakers Program and, as Trustee, invests these funds to award the scholarships given in the annual Student Speakers Contest.

• an organization dedicated to the promotion, support and implementation of the Student Speakers Program.

• an organization through which YOU can support YOUTH with your contribution being fully deductible for Federal income tax purposes.

Why a Gift to the Lions District 46 - Student Speakers Foundation, Inc.?

When you make a gift to the Foundation, you may think of the young person who will be helped - who may be given encouragement to pursue his or her education beyond high school, who will benefit from the scholarships made available by the Foundation, who may become a leading member of a profession or an informed adult leader in his or her community.

A gift to the Foundation can have a very broad impact. Because every young person represents potential that should be nurtured and encouraged, a gift to the Foundation is a contribution to the future of our communities, and country at large.

Why Consider a Bequest?

A bequest is an investment in the future ensuring the continuity of a youth program unique to the Lions of Nevada. It ensures the ability to serve, and reward, generations of youth to come.

As one of the strongest and most respected youth programs in Lionism, the District 46 Lions Student Speakers Contest is very highly regarded. Bequests help maintain the program's stature, and improve the ability to recognize participants with meaningful scholarships.

What are the Advantages to YOU?

There are many advantages to making a bequest, beyond the basic humanitarian gesture.

Every bequest to the District 46 Student Speaker Foundation, Inc. is exempt from federal estate tax and from inheritance tax most states.

A bequest of real estate, securities, or other property can actually reduce the tax burden on your estate and thereby protect liquid assets for your heirs.

Through a bequest, you may be able to give more than through current cash donations. The appreciation of real estate and other property makes it possible for people who do not consider themselves wealthy to make substantial bequests. Pension plans and life insurance policies can also be included in bequest planning.

Letting Us Know Will Help!

If you plan to extend your support of the Foundation beyond your lifetime, we would like very much to know. Information you provide, including verification of your estate gift, will help us in planning for the future.

With your permission, we would also acknowledge your generosity by naming you as a Benefactor.

Benefactors

Donors of significant cash donations and verified estate gifts of $5,000 or more, made to the District 46 Student Speakers Foundation, Inc., will be provided a beautiful plaque and distinctive pin to indicate your generosity. Each donor will also be publicly recognized at the annual District 46 Lions Convention.
