LEADER DOGS FOR THE BLIND

Dear fellow Lions of District 5SW,
O&M for many people would be understood as Operation and Maintenance.
At Leader Dogs for the Blind, it stands for Orientation and Mobility Training.
Did you know that many businesses require this training before a sight impaired
person can even be interviewed for a job. This often requires the person to pay,
out of pocket, for this training. And the problem is even finding an organization
or company to offer this kind of training.
Leader Dogs for the Blind to the rescue! This is one of the trainings that is offered
for their clients as well as for other individuals. And as usual there is no charge
for this service. Leader Dogs for the Blind is a completely philanthropic
organization funded by good Lions and their clubs from across the country.
Hello, my name is Lion Donna Wetz, and I am the Leader Dogs for the Blind
Chairman for District Governor Ron Bunnell’s Cabinet this year.
I have a wealth of information about Leader Dogs for the Blind and I am ready,
willing and able to share this with your Lions Club. There is also so much good
information on their web-site; just Google Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Again, this year I am asking you please to consider Leader Dogs for the Blind in
your charitable giving. You can mail your check to me and I will forward them to
Leader Dogs for the Blind. This helps me make sure that your contribution is
being attributed to District 5SW.
I have some promotional items as well as place mats that can be used for your
events. It is a great way to start the conversation about Leader Dogs. As I
mentioned earlier, I am also willing to speak to your group about Leader Dogs.
My contact Information: Donna Wetz, P.O. Box 204, Newell, SD 57760.
