District Awards


District 1-D 2018-19 District Goals

Leadership

  1. Hold quarterly ZC Trainings/Meetings

  2. Hold follow up Officer Training/Round Table discussions

  3. Hold quarterly Executive Team meetings

  4. Train member retention to Clubs (focusing on Club President and Club Membership Chairs)

  5. Develop a 5-year District Leadership Succession Plan

  6. Holding Guiding Lion Certification/Recertification and encourage Clubs to utilize

Membership

  1. Increase membership in District to end with a +5 in membership
         - New Members – Fiscal Year Goal of 125

  2. Hold Woman’s Symposium to promote Lions & increase women membership by 1% in District

  3. Retention Goal – lose no more than 1 Lion in each Club for reasons other than death/relocating
         - Retention Goal – Fiscal Year Goal of 120
            (total membership drops)
         

Service

  1. 100% of Clubs reporting service activities with LCI

LCIF

  1. 100% of Clubs donating to LCIF


Awards

All requirements for awards must be completed
between July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019

President's Award
Secretary's Award

Required for All Club Awards (each counts as 1 point)

- Club represented at all Zone meetings held
- Membership and Service Activities reported every month on My LCI
- Officer reports (PU-101) reported in My LCI by May 15th
- Dues paid within 60 days of receiving the dues notice
- Conduct a major service activity during the year
- Conduct a major fundraising event during the year
- Publicize Club activities in local media, District newsletter, State
     Magazine, District website or social media
- Make a Club contribution of any amount to Lions Clubs
     International Foundation (LCIF)
- 1% of Club members attend the District Convention
- Make a contribution for Diabetes or hold a
     Diabetes Awareness event

 

Add the number of points indicated for each additional item completed:

- Club participate in the Peace Poster Contest (2 points) 
- Club distributes a Club newsletter to all members (2 points)
Conduct a Club New Member Orientation or attend District
     orientation if one is held
(4 points)
Report a total of at least 2 service activities and 2
     fundraising activities
(2 points)
Participate in an activity involving Diabetes (5 points)
Total of 10% or more of members attend the District Convention (3 points)
Club conducts a Club Quality Initiative Survey to retain members (3 points)
Add a new fundraiser that has not been done for at least 3 years (2 points)
Add a new service project that has not been done for
     at least 3 years
(2 points)
Total of 20% of members attend the District Convention (5 points)
Show participation of your Club in one of the Lions of Illinois
     Foundation programs
(4 points)
Show a net increase in membership by June 30th (5 points)
Report a total of at least 3 service activities and
     3 fundraising activities
(4 points)
At least 1 member attend a District 1-D Cabinet Meeting
     (not already a Cabinet member)
(3 points)
Attend the USA/Canada Forum (4 points)
Have an Inter-Club visit with a minimum of 5 members attending (5 points)
Show an effort for recruitment of new members by hosting an
      event or special dinner
(10 points)
At least 2 members attend the District 1-D Golf outing (5 points)
- Sponsor a new Club, Branch Club or Leo Club (10 points)
Increase membership by 1% (5 points)
Half of your members attend the District Convention (10 points)
Increase membership by 5% or more (15 points)

Awards will be given based on a points system as follows:

100% Clubs -     10 points  
3-Star Clubs -     25-49 points  
4-Star Club -     50-99 points
5-Star Club -     100 points or more


 

President’s Award

- Compliance with the LCI Constitution and
     By-Laws and Policies of the LCI Board of Directors
- No unpaid balances to LCI as of 6/30/19
- Attend all Zone Meetings in person
- Attend District Officers Training or Follow Up Training
- Club participation in 1 inter-club activity
- Club conducts 1 major service project and fundraiser
- Ensure all new members receive orientation and
      follow up after joining

Youmust complete 3 of the following:

- Attend District, State or International Convention
- Participate in the District Golf Outing
- Complete one of the degree programs through Lions University
- Attend the USA/Canada Forum
- Attend a Cabinet Meeting
- Club makes a contribution of any amount for Diabetes Awareness
     or holds a Diabetes Awareness Event
- Sponsor at least 1 new member by June 30, 2019


Secretary’s Award

- Attend all Zone Meetings in person with no more than 1 zone meeting missed
- Submit all Awards applications to Zone Chairperson
     by July 15, 2019

- Membership and Service Activities reported every month on My LCI
- Attend District Officers Training or Follow Up Training
- Officer reports (PU-101) reported in My LCI by May 15th

Youmust complete 3 of the following:

- Publicize Club activities in local media, District newsletter,
   State Magazine, District website or social media

- Sponsor at least 1 new member by June 30, 2019
- Attend the USA/Canada Forum
- Attend District, State or International Convention
- Distribute a Club or the District newsletter to all members
     on a regular basis

- Coordinate the development a program to follow up with
     members who seem disconnected from Club

- Coordinate the development a Club flyer promoting your
     Lions Club to your community
