Bringing Dignity To Others

Dr. Jitsuhiro Yamada, of Minokamo, Gifu, Japan, was elected to serve as president of Lions Clubs International at the association's 98th International Convention held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, June 26 through 30, 2015. President Yamada is a neurosurgeon.
A member of the Minokamo Lions Club, President Yamada has been a Lion since 1985. He has held many offices in the association, including district governor and GLT constitutional area vice leader. He served on the international board from 2005 to 2007 as a member of the Executive Committee and the Long Range Planning Committee and Vice Chairperson of Convention Committee.
He also served as a board appointee for 2011-2012. In recognition of his service to the association, President Yamada has received numerous awards, including the Humanitarian Partner Award, 10 International President's Awards and an Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lion activities, President Yamada is chairperson for several organizations including the Social Medical Corporation Koseikai, the Kizawa Memorial Hospital, the Social Welfare Corporation Jikeikai, Nozominooka Hospital and Ajisai Nursing College. He is a standing director of the Japan Hospital Association and an affiliate professor at Gifu University.
President Yamada has been active in the area of international relations, serving as president of the Gifu-Hungary Friendship Association, Gifu-Morocco Association and Gifu-Salzburg Association. He is a recipient of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, the Medal of Honor of the Alaouite Dynasty of the Kingdom of Morocco and an honorary citizen of Beijing City, China, in recognition of his service to international friendship building.
President Yamada and his wife, Dr. Toshiko Yamada, also a Lion and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have one son, one daughter and three grandchildren.

LION CHANCELLOR BOB CORLEW

 

  

 

 

Bob Corlew, from Milton, Tennessee, USA, was elected to serve as first vice president of Lions Clubs International
at the association's 98th International Convention held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, June 26 through 30, 2015.
Vice President Corlew is retired as chancellor for the State of Tennessee and a professor of law. A member of the
Murfreesboro Lions Club since 1978, he has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone
chairperson, district governor, cabinet secretary and council chairperson. He has been instrumental in the chartering
of a number of new clubs. Most recently he worked to charter a new club comprised of lawyers and judges which
gained more than 75 members during its first year.In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards,
including the Leadership Award, the Builder Key Award, three International President's Medals and the Ambassador of Good
Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Vanguard of the Melvin Jones Memorial,
a Progressive Lindsey-Jennings Fellow and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.In addition to his Lions activities, Vice President
Corlew has been active on various boards and in several community organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Murfreesboro
City Council, Red Cross, the Jaycees, General Sessions Judge, Discovery House Museum board of directors, Recreation Commission
and Water and Sewer Board. Vice President Corlew and his wife, Dianne, also a Lion and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have five
children and four grandchildren.

Naresh Aggarwal, of Delhi, India, was elected to serve as second vice president of Lions Clubs International at the
association's 98th International Convention held in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 26 through 30, 2015. Vice President
Aggarwal is the chairman for a manufacturing and exporting company specializing in rice. A member of the Batala Smile
Lions Club since 1974, Vice President Aggarwal has held many positions within the association, including club president, district
governor, district membership chairman, multiple district trainer and GMT Area Leader, Board Appointee, founder-chairperson
of the Multiple District 321 Forum and chairperson the Lions of District 321-D Students Foundation.
Vice President Aggarwal has received numerous awards in recognition of his contributions to the association, including
the Leadership Award, an International Membership Award, 52 Extension Awards, 15 International President's Awards
and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is also a Progressive
Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to his Lions activities, Vice President Aggarwal has been active in numerous professional and
community organizations, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the FICCI-SAARC Forum. Vice President Aggarwal
and his wife, Navita, also a Lion and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.

On completion of his education in the Commerce Faculty, in 1954, he started his professional career as a Commercial Executive with Mukund Ltd. In course of time, he rose to the position of General Manager in that organization. He had a distinguished career with Mukand Ltd., spanning over 30 years.

Joined Lions Club in 1963, became District Governor in 1979. During the term of District Governor, Lion Ashok Mehta helped the flood-affected people of Morvi, Gujarat and constructed a housing colony at a cost of Rs.34 Lakhs.

ROHIT MEHTA, of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India was elected President of the International Association of Lions Clubs at the 75th Annual Convention, held in Hong Kong between June 23-26, 1992.

Past President Mehta is the Chairperson of several companies in India engaged in the business of textiles, engineering, medical products and energy. He is also associated as a Director in may other companies.
