DISTRICT 14-C GOVENOR'S GOAL
2025-2026
The District Governor for District 14-C (Adams, Cumberland, and York Counties) has set their 2025-2026 goals in consultation with the district’s leadership team, which includes the District Governor, Vice-District Governors, Zone Chairs, and others. This year’s District 14-C goals are as follows:
- Service Activity: Meet or exceed the 2024-2025 reporting percentages, and have more than 95% of clubs report service activities to Lions International
- Analyze/Review the club’s reporting data for District 14-C for the start of the 2025-2026 year.
- Identify an individual that is knowledgeable in the reporting process & willing to work with all the clubs, especially the ones having trouble.
- Determine "WHY" particular clubs are not reporting or are struggling.
- Inform all Lions of the importance of reporting and encourage clubs to have 1 primary person, club secretary, with the reporting responsibility and encourage clubs to appoint a club administrator as a backup person to ensure regular service reporting.
- Train - Communicate - Repeat.
- Mission 1.5 (membership): Start one (1) new club with at least 20 charter members and induct 126 new members into existing clubs for a net gain of plus 5.
- GET District Coordinator to chair a club extension team to review areas of opportunity to start new lions club(s). (GET - Global Extension Team)
- Provide tools to each zone chair to assist clubs to think - act - and overcome issues.
- Identify and clubs which "may" be in trouble for whatever reason (membership, activity, dues).
- Hold district wide orientation sessions twice a year, one in fall, one in spring, for new members and sponsors, and have them open to all lions.
- Establish means to encourage and assist clubs to "Mentor" new and existing members on services - policies - expectations, etc. This should be part of club meetings and district orientations.
- Have zone chairs trained to report items and answer questions at district advisory meetings (zone meetings).
- Leadership Development: conduct club officer plus new member and sponsor orientations. All training will be reported by district GLT using the lion’s portal. (GLT - Global Leadership Team)
- Meet with district GAT to outline and discuss the training plan, plus approve to proceed.
- Establish summer & fall curriculum, promote training, identify trainers and conduct training.
- Update information in district as needed for year 2025-2026 ZC, DG, VDGs... new bios, calendar, etc.
- Establish spring curriculum, promote training, identify trainers and conduct training.
- Verify that training has been recorded and entered in the learn section of Lions portal.
- Contact zone chairs to follow-up on club officers that have not completed training and encourage them to complete it.
- Promote all training available to lions. (Lions University, MD-symposiums, USA/Canada forum)
- Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF): District and Clubs will donate at least $37,000.00 to LCIF with 100% club participation.
- Inform clubs on the importance of LCIF donations and the benefits created by those donations.
- District LCIF Chair to encourage cubs and individuals to make donations to LCIF.
- Review all possible fundraising activities that could benefit LCIF and compare them to what has been done previously.
- Encourage clubs and (individuals) to include LCIF in their annual budgets.
- Report on status of donations at GAT meetings and cabinet meetings.
- DG to personally make a donation to LCIF and encourage all cabinet members to do so as well.
- Coordinate a district wide program to establish an LCIF day of giving.
- Custom Goal: Plan and hold three (3) service events with a focus on the environment, partnering with organizations like Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Diabetes Awareness, partnering with local hospitals and childhood cancer awareness, partnering with Four Diamonds.
- Appoint a chairperson for each event.
- Review and discuss plans for the actual events (who - What - When - Where).
- Inform all lions in the district of the events and how to proceed to make them successful.
- Hold the Events - contact local media with information for each event throughout the year.
- Celebrate success.
These goals, which will require the commitment of the district’s leadership team and the enthusiastic support of our clubs to accomplish. Clubs that demonstrate their support for this year’s District Goals will be recognized with a Certificate of Achievement from the District Governor.
