- A Message from District Governor Francis Hyunok Lee
Lions International District 4-L3 | 2026–2027
Dear Lions, Leos, and Friends,
Welcome to the new year of opportunity, purpose, and service.
It is an honor to serve as your District Governor for Lions International District 4-L3. I am grateful for your trust and look forward to serving alongside you as we continue our proud tradition of changing lives through service.
For more than a century, Lions have been united by two simple yet powerful words: We Serve. That promise continues to define who we are. This year, as we embrace International President Mark S. Lyon's theme, Rooted in Service, we are reminded that lasting impact begins with strong foundations—compassion, integrity, fellowship, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
Our District theme, Lead, Serve, Grow, is more than a slogan—it is a call to action.
Lead with courage and vision, inspiring others through humility and example.
Serve with generous hearts, bringing hope, dignity, and opportunity to those in need.
Grow our clubs, our leaders, and our friendships, so that the spirit of Lionism will flourish for generations to come.
The future of District 4-L3 does not depend on one leader; it depends on all of us. Every member can inspire, every club has the power to transform its community, and every act of kindness creates a ripple that reaches far beyond what we can imagine.
Together, let us strengthen our roots, embrace new opportunities, welcome new members, and boldly expand our service. Act with purpose, unite in compassion, and help uplift every community.
Thank you for your dedication, your friendship, and your commitment to serving others. Join me as we build an extraordinary year together.
Let us Lead. Serve. Grow. Together, let us remain Rooted in Service. Together, let us continue to show the world what it truly means to say, "We Serve."
Yours in Service,
Francis Hyunok Lee

- About District 4-L3
District 4-L3 of Lions Club International has its origins within the broader history of Multiple District 4, which was formed in 1917 and initially covered California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada.
District 4-L3 covers a wide portion of Los Angeles County, stretching from the Palos Verdes Peninsula up the coast toward Malibu, across the Santa Monica Mountains to Downtown Los Angeles, and south to Wilmington and San Pedro. The district is home to more than 50 Lions clubs and over 1,100 members, all with a mission to serve the community through projects such as vision screening, hunger relief, and youth scholarships.
Local clubs are engaged in service priorities such as vision screening through KidSight, hunger relief, youth scholarships, and community welfare programs. Financial filings show the district operates as a 501(c)(4) civic and social welfare organization, with revenues and expenses drawn largely from membership dues, fundraising events, and contributions.
Community calendars highlight a steady slate of club visits, officer installations, and training sessions for the 2025–2026 Lions year. In his new role, Governor Nick Mananghaya is expected to focus on strengthening club service capacity across the South Bay, coastal, and central Los Angeles communities that make up District 4-L3.
