Lions Clubs & Simpson GM Eyeglass and Sunglass Collection Drive Now through May 31, 2025 The Lions Clubs, in partnership with Simpson GM, are collecting used eyeglasses and UV-protected sunglasses to support those in need of sight assistance in Nigeria. This effort is part of an ongoing global outreach inspired by the Lions Club & Helen Keller Challenge 2.0 (LC&HKC2.0) initiative. Donated items will be sorted, read, and cleaned by the Lions of District 4-L5, then carefully packaged and delivered to the Lions International Convention in Orlando, FL. There, they will be handed off to Lions of Nigeria, who will transport them back home and distribute them to communities in need. This project was sparked by a direct challenge from the Lions of Nigeria to the LC&HKC2.0 team, asking for help in addressing a critical need. While Nigeria has a high cataract surgery rate, access to UV-protected sunglasses remains limited due to cost and availability—putting many at risk of long-term vision damage. Quality sunglasses are urgently needed to help combat this growing issue. You can make a difference. Consider starting a collection drive in your community.
