The membership from clubs within Lions District 36-R have met in annual convention since 1924. The purpose and goals of the annual convention is to; hold the official election of District Officers, vote on any proposed changes to the District Constitution & By Laws, hear from representatives of Lions International, provide support for our Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation, learn about new opportunities and available support, facilitate information sharing, give and receive recognition, and build Lions good will and camaraderie.

 

D   I   S   T   R   I   C   T          E   L   E   C   T   I   O   N   S

The District 36-R Convention is the time and place for the election of the District Governor, First Vice District Governor and Second Vice District Governor for the following Lion Year, AND voting on any proposed resolutions to ammend the District Constitution & By Laws. In certain years, an open board member position of our Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation Board of Directors may also be up for election. Any district member in good standing and meeting the qualifications who may be interested in District leadership roles is encouraged to contact the district secretary at LionsDistrict36R@gmail.com  Want to find information on the requirements and procedures for running for District Governor or Vice Governor? Each club in good standing is entitled to a number of official voting delegates as determined by the Club Delegate Formula provided in the District Constitution. All clubs will receive their determined number of election delegate packets prior to the convention.

Polish up those club websites and social media pages, and review your newsletters, club brochure, event flyers and project reports! All material and projects eligible for various award categories will be reviewed in the month of January by the District Awards committee. D   I   S   P   L   A   Y          F   O   Y   E   R

Tables are placed throughout the venue foyer displaying a variety of clubs, organizations, affiliates and activities. There will also be Peace Poster entries on display. Please take time to check it out!

Solicitation Etiquette: non-convention fundraising solicitations are not allowed on the convention floor. Any non-convention fundraising solicitations are limited to a clubs pre-reserved display table.

 

R   A   F   F   L   E          B   A   S   K   E   T   S

Each club is asked to make a basket reflecting the convention theme to bring for the basket raffle. To allow others to "see" all of what's in your basket, please provide a list of items with the name of your club, that can be seen clearly on your basket. For basket raffle questions please contact us here>> A percentage of proceeds from this years raffle will go to the Ronald McDonald House at the PeaceHealth Heartfelt House in Springfield.

The convention program is developed annually with a published schedule of speakers, topics and activities.
